Keep in mind, the only thing the "optout screen" does is screen your
name and address from advertising companies. In the future, you will
still get mail that you have requested such as credit card bills,
municipality bills, any magazines you prescribe to and so on.

Next,
Go to this website: http://www.bayarearecycling.org/junkmail/sample.htm
and print out any or all of the links which each have their own letter templates.
You especially need the "For catalogs, magazines or credit card companies" link because this letter is universal.

Use these letters to send back any mailers that still come to your home.
Keep in mind, most of the junk mail will stop coming because you opted out already and these companies are no longer able to get your name and mailing address from the credit bureaus.
For 'free' postage, you can use their enclosed envelopes!

(Make sure you send one to val-pak. You can find plenty of
coupons on the Internet for "dog" and "carpet" shampooing.)
